The way that we have distributed the mass within this weight’s design is the secret that creates the improved shifting characteristics. At the tip of the weight is a protrusion we call the Launch Tube. At rest and in low speed modes, the mass of the Launch Tube is below the line perpendicular to the clutch. The mass located in this area reduces the initial shift force of the weight while the turbo is in naturally aspirated and low boost mode, yet applies that mass as added shift force when it shifts above the perpendicular plane.

This compression tool allows you to compress the spring without removing the clutch from the engine. Simply remove the drive clutch bolt, thread this tool into the center of the clutch and compress the spring. This allows you to safely remove the clutch cover cap bolts without damaging the bushing to change the drive clutch spring or weights. Designed specifically for P90-X drive clutches, but will also work on most Polaris drive clutches.
